Last night I almost won the Mother of the Year award.

Did you know that for a 2 1/2 year old, who weighs 31-35 lbs, that it takes eating 5-500mg tylenols to worry about toxicity?  I do.  Lilypalooza walked up to me and handed me a tylenol.  I asked….where did you get this?  She said…your purse.  I asked…did you eat any?  She said….yes.  I asked….how many? (fear crawling through my body)  She said….just one.  I asked….did you eat two?  She said….no, just one.  Phone call to the poison control hotline (my first in 6 1/2 years of parenting) led me to the information that saved me. (I don't ever have meds of any kind in my purse….but I slipped a couple in one day in fear that I would need them during a 12 hour workshop.  And obviously forgot to remove them….never again!).

These sweet girls were from a playdate mini-session at the park.

Bad decisions:

Leaving the outskirts of Calgary, we knew we needed fuel.  We didn't necessarily want to drive back into town, since we were headed the opposite way.  So we started driving.  We *almost* turned into a station, but it was SO packed (lined up out of the lot) that I convinced Dan that we'd make it to Canmore (he disagreed, but somehow just went with me).  As the km's on our readout plummeted faster than we cleared them, I got slightly worried about my decision.  As we passed a sign that said "Canmore 19 km" and our truck said 12, I got pretty stressed.  Praying that we would find fuel before running out.  Picturing Dan having to walk x-number of km's to get us fuel in the stinking heat.  And then we saw a sign for Dead Man's Flats.  We got there with our truck saying 2 km to empty.  Thank the Lord!  Of course we knew that we could go a bit with the reading on zero.....but who wants to test that on a highway?
